Fun Travel Tips!!!
![]() When planning your trip to Europe, footwear might not be the first thing on your mind, but it should be! Whether you're strolling through the cobbled streets of Rome, exploring charming villages in the south of France on your trip, or trekking up castle steps in Prague, the right sandals can make or break your travel experience! Choosing sandals that offer both comfort and style for your travels is key to making the most of your European trip. Since it is frowned upon to walk around in flip-flops in the downtown areas of Europe (plus no arch support!) here are some of he best sandals to wear in Europe while sightseeing on your trip for walking long hours. These sandals are the types the locals wear and your feet will thank you after walking 20,000 steps in one day! Plus it is way too hot in Europe in the summer to be walking around in gym type running shoes! My favourite travel sandals are the ones in the above picture! I walk thousands of steps in these sandals, they look cute and they keep my feet super happy, no soaking them at the end of a long day! I love the style, and to be honest, that is what most European women walk around in during the hot summer months1 Nice and airy and very comfortable, perfect for trips that require lots of walking! They are only around $56 and you can get them on this link at Amazon: amzn.to/4c0UZB2 Why Sandals Are a Great Choice for a Trip to Europe! Europe’s diverse climate and walkable cities make sandals a smart and practical footwear option, especially in the spring and summer months. Sandals are breathable, lightweight, and easy to pack. If you choose the right pair, they can offer just as much support as sneakers while looking more polished. The best travel tips always include packing wisely and versatile sandals are a top pick for travellers seeking comfort without compromising on style. We want to look good, not too touristy (i.e. flip flops) and be comfortable while travelling around and getting in all those steps on long sight seeing days! To make the most of your sandals during your European trip, keep the following travel tips in mind: Break Them In: Never wear brand-new shoes on your trip. Wear your sandals for a few days at home to break them in and make sure they’re comfortable. Bring Blister Protection: Even the best sandals can cause rubbing. Pack blister pads or moleskin just in case. Alternate Footwear: If possible, bring a second pair of sandals or comfortable sneakers to alternate and give your feet a break. Watch the Weather: Some European cities can surprise you with rain. Make sure your sandals can handle a little water or pack a lightweight backup pair. Cultural Considerations: In some European cities, overly casual footwear like flip-flops may not be appropriate in churches or fine restaurants. Choose sandals that are casual-chic to keep your options open. In Europe flip flops are only for the beach or pools, not in the cities! Secure Your Footwear: Make sure your sandals stay on well—slip-ons without ankle straps can lead to foot fatigue and increase your risk of tripping. Another favourite travel sandal of mine is the multi coloured, super comfortable one in the picture below! Its an orthopaedic walking sandal that fits to my sole, so it becomes personalised and with the different colours, it matches with any outfit. They are so cute and a great option for walking around Europe. These sandals make the perfect travel shoe choice for trips that have lots of walking, plus a good option in the heat! I also love the arch support, and I love the price at only $44! You can get them on Amazon by clicking this link: amzn.to/4kPDDLj ![]() These sandals for my trips are another one of my favourite options for when I travel and need to walk a lot! They are also super comfortable, have adjusting straps so they fit perfectly to any foot and they are so stylish! I can wear them with shorts in the day and then a dress at night, which means less packing! They come in different colours and they are only $32, can´t go wrong! And a bonus is that they are water proof and very light weight, which is great for my feet after walking a few hours on my trip! You can get these on Amazon by clicking this link: amzn.to/4ivCF5s Technically these sandals are hiking sandals but with a trip to Europe, it is like hiking all day while travelling and sight seeing. These sandals are what all the locals wear and it keeps our feet not only cool, comfortable but stylish too! Remember: flip flops are only for the pool and beach in Europe! Please your feet will be so sore after a day of touring in flip flops..... I personally like to bring two different pairs of sandals on my trips to keep my feet extra happy when I travel! But even when I am not traveling, I wear these sandals in my day to day life in Europe, we walk a lot here!! When planning your trip to Europe, investing in the right sandals can significantly improve your travel experience. Your feet carry you through every museum, market, and hidden alley you explore, so don’t cut corners when it comes to footwear. Prioritize comfort, durability, and style, and you'll thank yourself every step of the way. Choosing the right sandals doesn’t just enhance your comfort, it also adds to the overall joy of your travel adventure.
